The Mount Kenya Trust is dedicated to the preservation and protection of Mount Kenya, an area of 2,100km2, by concentrating preservation efforts at field level.  The Trust protects critical forest areas with fences, minimising the human-wildlife conflict, and supports existing Government and Law Enforcement agencies to stem illegal activities, such as poaching and deforestation, that threaten the ecosystem.

The overall objective of Imani is to provide parental care, protection and guidance to orphaned and vulnerable children and to guide them through a reintegration process back into society. As it presently caters for 350 children, Imani also strives to identify and develop each child’s unique and special talents, and to teach, transform and train the children through education and individual mentorship.

The hospital is a non-profit organization responsible for helping children such as through providing health services, fostering good health, carrying out research and teaching healthcare professionals. Gertrude offers a genuine one-stop paediatric centre that can provide almost every available treatment that a child might need. It is foremost devoted to the care of children while also providing a favourable environment for both patients and members of staff.

Bright Girls Shella Secondary School

Bright Girls Shella is a secondary school for Muslim girls based in Lamu, Kenya. The primary objective of the school is to empower students through quality education where they can realise their full potential and also to contribute to transforming societies so gender equality can become a reality.               

 

At present, there are 140 girls studying in the school who share a total of 10 classrooms, one ICT room and one laboratory.

Rhino Ark seeks to protect the mountain range ecosystems – including the inhabiting wildlife and their environment – of Kenya by raising awareness of, and actively conserving, areas facing destruction. The organisation also creates and provides sustainable programmes for forest-edge communities that are tailored to generate income and support the conservation of natural resources.
